MAIN STREET RESOURCES

 Indianola Main Street Grant Nomination Process Applications open June 23, 2025. This funding is provided from a state appropriation for the Main Street Iowa Program to assist with improving the physical and economic health of the designated Main Street districts. This state appropriation will allow Main Street Iowa to offer matching Challenge Grants to participating communities for vertical infrastructure projects. All Iowa Main Street districts, including Indianola Main Street, are eligible for the Main Street Challenge Grant funds. Indianola Main Street may apply on behalf of ONE project. Eligible projects must be within our district boundary. State awards will be dispersed to chosen beneficiaries by the local Main Street district organization. NOW OPEN! Main Street Iowa is excited to offer this program to help encourage business development efforts in Iowa’s Main Street districts around the state! Sustainable businesses that will grow and thrive is the desired outcome! The OPEN 4 BUSINESS competition is a chance for businesses within the Indianola Downtown district to compete for up to $25,000 to support their business development.  Local deadline 4/15/25 5PM

 Design & business assistance is provided to downtown property owners and tenants as a free service through the Main Street Iowa program. The Design Specialists will provide design recommendations and develop conceptual renderings for each proposed project.
